Developed Internet Business

Back in September 1998 I planned and developed my Internet business. I started with my website
and developed a number of tele-classes that I used to introduce my website, along with articles and promotions
that put me on the map.

The number one item you need for the Internet is a website. Now, this may seem silly to say, yet, for
those that are just starting out, it isn't always obvious.

There are many ways to get started. You can hire someone to do the work, you can learn HTML
and do it yourself, you can learn how to use software like Front-Page and Dreamweaver, it's up to you.

The most important point is to learn the basics of a functional website, and the use of e-mail.
E-mail is one of the best, if not the best way of making money on the Internet from your website.
One of the first steps you need to do, before you design your website, is to determine how you are
going to capture the e-mail addresses of the people out there who are your potential clients.

There are many ways that I can go here with this story. I've decided to simply
publish, for your reading, the very first article I published to give you another idea of how to get started.

It’s always exciting to learn about new concepts that allow you to get more out of your web site.

There are many necessary features of your web site that will help in making it successful, however, 
without the number one secret to successful internet marketing, your effectiveness will suffer.
 
We all need to be registered with search engines, in fact, we need to be on the first page 
of as many as possible. We all need to write articles, like this one, that give exposure to 
our web site and what we offer. 

We all need to have secure credit card transactions to sell products and / or services. 
We all need to compete with the millions of other web sites that now exist and 
those that will compete with us in the future.
 
Now, please understand that I don’t profess to know it all. 
I have struggled just as you and am continuing to learn everyday. 
Some of the things that I have learned is how to develop inner peace, 
a passion for life and prosperity consciousness, and 
I’ve learned the number one secret to internet marketing.
 
How did I do this? Well, I asked myself an important question, 
possibly one that you have asked yourself. 
“Why am I here?” or “What’s my purpose?” you know the one, 
that haunting question that we all have a hard time answering.
 
I’ve also learned that there are 1,440 minutes in each day. 
How we use this 1440 determines whether we are successful or a failure. 
Now it’s not necessary to ever fail. The fact is, that if we don’t quit we can never fail. 
The only difference between one person and another is the time it takes to complete the task. 
Someone may complete their task in 2 days, another 2 weeks and still another 2 months. 
As long as each of them don’t quit, they will all be successful. 
So pursue your goals and never quit and you will always be successful.
 
When I was just starting high school my mother and father moved into our first home that 
allowed me my own bedroom. I quickly converted the closet into my office with a desk, 
a lamp and a chair. At the time I had just flunked all five subjects in school and 
was determined, since I was at the bottom of the heap, that I would apply myself and do better.

Each night I sat at my desk and continued with my school work until I was finished. 
It sometimes was early in the morning, however, I didn’t pay attention to the time because I made 
a promise to myself to excel. Sometimes I would arrive home on Friday, go into my office, and 
enjoy the subjects that I was studying, coming out only to go to the bathroom and grab a snack. 
It is amazing what you can accomplish when you enjoy what you’re doing.
 
That was 46 years ago. Today my parents have passed on and again I am 
sitting in my office, quite larger now, and working on this article. 
I’m enjoying every minute of writing and developing my web site and my business. 
The reason my business and my web site are successful is because I apply 
the number one secret of internet marketing everyday. 
It’s now 2:04am and I’ve been enjoying myself since 9:00am this morning. 
When you enjoy what you are doing there is no such thing as hard work.
 
And by the way, I went from flunking all five subjects to straight “A’s” that semester and 
have been enjoying success every since. I truly learned the number one secret of life, 
whether your marketing your business off or on-line and that is “you need to make a contribution.” 
As simple as that! Why am I here? To make a contribution. What’s my purpose? To make a contribution. 
Everyday, we each need to make a contribution. When our contribution benefits enough people, 
we will have reached success. So when you are considering what to do with your web site, 
you might think about making a contribution to every person that visits.
 
Well, there you have it, make a contribution. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? 
How can you be so successful just by making a contribution. 
Think about George Lucas, Pamela Anderson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Julia Roberts, 
Donald Trump, Marilyn Monroe, Dr. Robert Schuller, Cindy Crawford, Anthony Robbins, 
Linda Brava, Dr. Linus Pauling, Katarina Witt, David Duchovny… everyone of these people have 
made a contribution in one form or another. Think about how they have benefited
